Update to A World of iPhone Links

Time for another update to A World of iPhone Links. I sort through the hundreds of iPhone-friendly sites so you don’t have to, giving you only the best. A star represents an Art of the iPhone favorite.

Small Earth

SmallStarAOL TV Listings - Terrific TV guide site for your iPhone. One time set up. Enter in your zip code and your cable company (or local broadcast), and whenever you revisit the site, it shows what’s on tonight. Very well done. A definite bookmark.

Astrotruth - Astrology romance compatibility site. Find out if your sign is compatible with your significant other’s. If not, break up. The iPhone commands it.

IMDb.com (unofficial) - Movie database optimized for the iPhone.

iNascar - Nascar race results, news, track stats, etc. Gentlemen, start your iPhones.

Internet Speed Test - Test your iPhone’s download speeds. Does it feel like you’re living in the days of dial up? Find out for sure.

MyNetDiary Food and Excercise Log - Keep a health diary. Track your calories and excercise with information stored in the cloud. Lose weight with your iPhone.

Pubget - Search engine for medical journal and science articles. Medical researchers know about Pubmed. Well, Pubget is a refined version of Pubmed’s search engine. Free Starbucks WiFi for Your iPhone (With Starbucks Card)

Starbucks iPhone-friendly login screen

*Update* WiFi access is now totally free (no Starbucks Card needed) for AT&T Wireless/iPhone users.

AT&T has begun replacing T-Mobile as the WiFi provider for Starbucks. They are offering 2 hours of free WiFi to owners of a Starbucks Card. They even have a nice iPhone- and iPod Touch-friendly login page.

What is a Starbucks Card? It’s simply a gift card with a few perks. Besides the free 2 hours of WiFi, you also get free syrup and milk options for your beverage, free brewed coffee refills, and a free tall beverage when you purchase Starbucks coffee beans. Starbucks Cards start at $5 and have a minimum reloading amount of $5.

Starbucks Card gets you free WiFi for 2 hours

Additional Wifi access can be purchased once your two hours have elapsed. It will cost $3.99 for every 2 hours of access. Unlimited access is available for $19.99 a month, and you also can use any of AT&T’s 70,000 WiFi access points throughout the world. Access to Starbucks and other AT&T Wifi spots will be free to AT&T broadband customers (DSL, etc.). I am an AT&T DSL customer, so I’m excited about this. Click here to find all the AT&T WiFi access locations near you.

A Starbucks barista in downtown Chicago informed me that AT&T will be coming to Chicago in the next couple months, and the roll out across the country should be near complete by the end of the year.

Another update to the A World of iPhone Links page. All links are iPhone- and iPod Touch-friendly or generally designed to be accessed on a mobile phone. Enjoy.

American Airlines - Check on your reservation, check-in status, or flight status. Book or change flights, find specials on fares, view your Miles, request upgrades. Basically, everything you’d need for traveling on AA in a well-done iPhone-friendly site.

The Beatles (fan site) - Anything and everything about the Beatles. They’re not on iTunes yet, but they’re on the iPhone.

CBS News - All the news that’s fit to print…err…view on your 480X320 dpi screen with high-grade optical glass.

Food Information Database - Food information site featuring calorie, fat, carbs, etc. Features all the major fast food chains and restaurants. Barebones site, but useful.

Fox News - Fair. Balanced. Use the iPhone’s accelerometer to balance the news.

iZodiac - Horoscopes for the iPhone inclined. Simple, sweet, good-looking site. Discover your tomorrow today. Will the iPhone be your Cassandra?

Tittr - Fun little photo microblogging site. It’s simple to use: snap a picture with your iPhone and email it to Tittr.com at geemail (as in Google), and it shows up on the site, tagged by whatever you enter in the subject line. Fun to see where people are using their iPhone. Important caveat: the name you use with your email shows up next to your photo, but your email address is hidden.

SmallStarWikipedia - The best iPhone Wikipedia site yet (there have been some bad ones). Features full Wikipedia posts. Definite bookmark.
