1. Open the SMS app:
2. Create a new text message (if needed):

3. Tap the Camera icon on the left side:

Note: if you don’t see the camera icon, you need to update the iPhone’s software. Instructions here.
4. You’ll see three buttons appear. You can tap the Take Photo or Video button to capture an image or video within the SMS app. Or, you can tap Choose Existing to select a picture or video you’ve taken on the iPhone previously. If you want to cancel, tap Cancel (duh):

5. Tap Send to send away!

Alternative Method
Believe it or not, every cell phone number has an email address. To get that address, check the list of email addresses below for various wireless companies. Or, have a friend send you an MMS to your email address. Access the email message on your iPhone and check out the “From:” field. That is your friend’s cell phone’s email address. Emailing a picture to that address will show up as an MMS on their phone. You can add that address to your contacts. Voila, you can now send MMS messages to your friend’s phone.
Just make sure your friend’s phone can receive MMS messages (ie, you can’t email the MMS to an iPhone).

iPhones stink. I wish I had done my homework before I bought one. Great gaming phone but very poor in texting (if u can even call it that) and email support.

It does work with Verizon. Some carriers, Verizon being one of them, will not allow the user to receive pics over 100mb. I have had to send pics to my pc, reduce the size then send them along to a Verizon phone. Hope this helps.

I have tried alot of these, with success. The only one I’m having probs with is this new Alltel/Verizon MMS. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re combined now or what, but I cannot seem to send an MMS to a Verizon/Alltel subscriber. I even got my sister to MMS me, I got her MMS address I’m suppose to use, turned around & used it, STILL DIDNT WORK!!!!

Some things to try:
1. On your iPhone, go into Settings–>General, scroll down to Resetand tap Reset Network Settings. Note that if you have WiFi network settings on the iPhone, you’ll have to reenter them after resetting.
2. Try sending just a regular text message. If you can’t, there may be other problems like your account is not set up to send text messages or you have the wrong phone number.
3. If you are roaming outside of your call area, you have to have Data Roamingturned on in the iPhone’s settings. To turn it on, go into Settings–>General–>Network and slide the Data Roaming tab to On. Note that roaming charges may start to apply.
4. Some carriers have limits for the size of MMS messages. Try sending a smaller photo or even a short voice memo as a test. AT&T Wireless limits MMS messages to 600KB.
