iLounge has reviewed all the Sudoku apps currently in the iTunes app store, and their favorite is the $5 Platinum Sudoku from Gameloft. They liked that Platinum Sudoku offers the most game options out of all the soduku games, with tons of different tile sets and fonts, background music, and unlockable features. iLounge notes that this $5 app blows away the $10 soduku app from mega game developer EA.
