The newest version of Google Mobile App has removed the need for typing Google queries into your iPhone’s web browser. Simply speak your question into the iPhone, and the app returns results like a normal typed-in Google query.
Plus, the iPhone’s GPS location makes results for questions like “Movie Showtimes” locally relevant. Check out the video above for an explanation.
The app works by recording your voice and uploading the audio file to Google’s servers. Google already has a similar voice recognition service called Google-411 that you must call and it supplies phone directory info. We’ll have a review of this app up shortly.
Download Google Mobile App for free from the iTunes App Store.

People don’t do research on an iphone. They do it on their desktop or notebook or UMPC. I found some voice recognition software named “Tazti” speech recognition that actually is a free download and performs voice searches of Google, Yahoo, MSN, Wikipedia, Amazon, eBay and many other websites. It also lets me log into and navigate Facebook and Myspace by talking to my PC. Tazti also lets me control my iTunes music player by talking to my PC. It really works well. I’ll use the iPhone Speech recognition to hunt for restaurants.
Here’s their youtube demo video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1tt_aeIAM8
