Bloomberg (free, download) is our pick for the best financial app for the iPhone. Not only does it offer a customizable portfolio to track your stocks, it also offers quick access to Bloomberg financial news, stock indices, and some pretty cool features for stock charts that involve the iPhone accelerometers and multitouch. Exploring the app is fun, as many items are tapable and will reveal even more information.
The app has four tabs along the bottom: News, Markets, My Stocks, and Stock Finder. News offers the latest headlines from Bloomberg, which is right up there with the Wall Street Journal in its quality of financial news coverage. Tap any story to expand and read the entire article. You can email the stories, and the email will contain the entire article (not just a link). One tip is to email stories to yourself for offline reading.

The Markets tab tracks the larger indices like Dow Jones and S&P 500 as well as international markets. Tap any of the indices to see more information, including the day’s best and worst performing stocks.

My Stocks is a customizable list where you can add your own stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, etc. You can even enter your buy-in price for each stock to see how much money you’ve lost that day or all time.

The Stock Finder let’s you find stocks and their ticker symbols by typing in either the company name or stock letters.
Bloomberg is a free download in the iTunes App Store. Check out our Best of iPhone Apps page to see all the best iPhone apps at a glance.

Huh, you’re right. Not sure why. It crashes right after it’s launched.

Actually, the issue can be resolved by deleting the app and reinstalling it.
