We’ve received several emails asking if cases for the iPhone 3G will fit the new iPhone 3G S. The answer is yes. The iPhone 3G S has the exact same size and shape as the 3G. Only two changes were made to the casing of the iPhone: the lettering on the back (“Designed by Apple in California”) now matches the shiny chrome of the Apple logo, and there is a new coating on the screen that is more fingerprint resistant (called oleophobic coating).
All accessories should continue to work with the 3G S, as the headphone connector and docking port are the same. And with the iPhone’s new ability to interact with third-party hardware, we could see a whole lot more accessories coming to the iPhone soon.
