*Update 7-24-2009* There have been reports that Rebel Scholar is shipping cases that do not match the quality of what is advertised on their website. Go here for a review by someone who purchased a case from Rebel Scholar and wasn’t exactly pleased with what he received.
Rebel Scholar has introduced a new line of cases for the iPhone 3G/3G S. The cases are available at three different price points: affordable solid-color cases for $20, designer cases for $35, and cases from Hong Kong-based artist Jasper Wong for $100 (that’s a lot of clams for an iPhone case).

Other than the cool designs, the cases seem unremarkable in their build quality and ability to protect the iPhone. But fashion always goes for a premium.

I’d stay clear of this company. Not only do they have a terrible customer service policy, and cases that apparently don’t match the description, but also they like to sue anyone that posts a less than positive review. IMO: evil company selling a shoddy product!

I brought one of their cases Gunmetal Grey and it scratched the bottom of my iPhone 3G, near the FCC logo. I didn’t bother calling them since at first I thought it was my fault, maybe my iPhone had a piece of rock that I wasn’t aware of but I did wipe it down thoroughly. Upon later inspection it was a piece of metal filing stuck on the rubber guards. I haven’t been near any factories lately so I must’ve come from them. They really need to do QC on their products.
