iStarGaze
Alan: iStarGaze ($0.99, iTunes link) is a beautiful little puzzle game. Connect stars by drawing lines and progress to the next level when the lines you draw cross a predetermined amount of times. Relaxing sound effects and cool graphics make this a great time filler. Recommended for puzzle lovers.
Dropbox
Ben: Dropbox is a “cloud computing” service that allows you to store and save information on an online account. The Dropbox iPhone app (free, iTunes link) allows you to sync information on every device (iPhone, PC, Mac) that you have loaded the dropbox application to. This allows you to sync your files wherever you are and make changes no matter what device you are using.
i. TV
John: i. TV (free, iTunes link) is simply the best app for TV show listings. Select your local cable service and you’ll get local listings. There’s also movie listings, a TiVO remote, ability to add movies to Netflix queue, etc, but I use mainly use it for the awesome TV listings.
AAA Roadside
Tanya: I’ve never actually used the AAA Roadside app (free, iTunes link), but I feel better knowing it’s on my phone. This free app syncs with your AAA account and contains all your account information, including a picture of your AAA card (which is helpful if you’ve lost your original card like I have). If you need help, you can request roadside assistance with one click from your iPhone, without having to call anyone. You can also search for the nearest AAA-approved auto repair locations.
iReddit
Tim: iReddit is available in both free (iTunes link) and 99-cent (iTunes link) versions , this is the official app for Reddit, the social media network. As an unrepentant addict of the site, iReddit gives me quick hits of interesting news and snarky commentary whenever I’m stuck in line. It’s got a couple of neat features, like shake for a random story, but mostly I use it so that I can say “seen it” to all the cool links my friends find a week later.
