By my count, there are more than 150 iPhone apps directly related to the swine flu, also known as H1N1. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve undoubtedly heard about swine flu and the potential havoc it will inflict on our public health system. Now you can keep tabs on the H1N1 hysteria with your iPhone.
2 Helpful Swine Flu Apps:

Harvard Medical Center has just released the HMSMobile Swine Flu Center ($1.99, iTunes link), which provides basic information on swine flu and a symptom checker for adults and children. The app lets you locate nearby H1N1 outbreaks or watch educational videos from Harvard medical professionals. In terms of swine flu apps, it doesn’t get much more credible than Harvard.

Along similar lines, the HealthMap: Swine Flu + Outbreaks Near Me app (free, iTunes link) lets you search and browse H1N1 outbreaks near you. You can also sign up for alerts if an outbreak is reported in your area (panic! panic!). This swine flu app also includes the latest news on the virus from around the world.
Not-So-Serious Swine Flu Apps:

Swine Flu Scanner ($0.99, iTunes link) “analyzes body temperature and DNA mutations” by “scanning” your fingerprint to determine if you are infected with swine flu. If the Swine Flu Scanner determines you are infected, don’t fret — you can get experimental cures from Dr. Ham Funk or undergo electroshock therapy right from the app!

Frustrated because you can’t find the H1N1 vaccine? Take it out on a swine — it’s their fault anyway — with the Smack a Swine game ($0.99, iTunes link). The objective of the game is to smack (by tapping) a moving swine while avoiding the cows. Get points for each pig you hit, but watch your score diminish if you accidentally hit a cow.
