Aliph is known for making top-of-the-line Bluetooth headsets. In fact, an Aliph model—the Jawbone Prime—claimed the top spot on our recent list of the top 10 Bluetooth headsets. Now the company has released its newest headset, the Jawbone Icon, which it claims is its “most sophisticated product yet.” It’s also the lightest and smallest headset from Aliph.
With this new headset, Aliph is also launching the MyTalk software platform, which lets owners customize their headset via a web-based interface. Using this software, you can choose different voices for when the headset tells you things like caller ID or remaining battery life. The Jawbone Icon also includes a visual representation of battery life at the top of the iPhone’s screen.
The Jawbone Icon headset costs $99.99 and comes in six designs. There are some pretty snazzy options, including one with a ruby-like jewel tone and another with a brushed stainless-steel look. It is available now at Verizon stores and Jawbone.com, and it will also be available at Apple and AT&T retail stores in the near future.
The headset is getting excellent reviews so far, including from Wired and CNET. Nicole Lee at CNET says the Jawbone Icon is “the most innovative Bluetooth headset we’ve seen to date.”
