iPhoto files not recognized by my iMac

When I try to download my picture files from my iPhone to my computer most of the files are not recognized. And the ones that are recognized and do download are often corrupted. Does anyone know what is wrong with my phone? My husband's iPhone has no issues downloading to our computer it's just mine. We both have the 4S.

It sounds like a file on your iPhone that has to do with synching photos got corrupted somehow. I found the following thread at Apple's discussion board as a possible answer if you're desperate. If you're on a Mac, you could use PhoneView to do the same thing:
